new to news of note?

For those of you who are receiving this "News of Note" for the first time, I will explain. This is how our parents and students receive information and news regarding both the youth symphony and chorus. If there are changes and updates, reminders, or simply an expression of glad tidings we get the message out via the "News of Note".

To begin with I and the rest of the Board and our Directors would like to thank all of our parents for sharing their amazing children with us. The Spring 2008 season has begun with an explosion of energy and talent in the form of your children. You should really come in during a rehearsal sometime and get a taste of the work and creativity taking place.

Annual Officer Nominations

Spring also brings with it an opportunity for our parents to decide on the leadership of NRYSC. The officers who make up your Board need to be elected for the 2008-2009 year. Our current officers are willing to continue serving you with the exception of the Treasurer.

According to our ByLaws:

"The elected Officers shall be the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Executive Board shall appoint a Nominating Committee to nominate these officers, with the election by the full membership atthe Annual Spring Business Meeting. Officers shall assume their duties at the time of the election."

Kathy Kiser has been been appointed Chairman of the Nominating Committee.

If you would like to nominate someone or be considered for one of the offices of NRYSC please contact Kathy Kiser at 304-658-4329. We especially need someone to fill the position of Treasurer. The Treasurer's position is mostly taking care of the books and although there are busy times it is not stressful.

The positions are:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
