Welcome, students and parents to NRYSC's Spring 2009 season. The News of Note is our means to communicate with you. Our website: www.newrivermusic.org is designed as a resource for you as well. You will find the most recent News of Note, the list of dates to remember for the season, as well as any changes to the schedule. Our Student Handbook and audition music, along with pictures from our concerts and rehearsals, are there. The website is also a great recruitment tool. If you know of someone who may be interested in joining NRYSC, direct them to the website. They can find the necessary information for auditions and check out who we are.
Speaking of auditions, there is one more Monday evening left before auditions close for the Spring season. If you know of someone who would enjoy participating in NRYSC, please make a point of encouraging them to audition this coming Monday evening, March 16, 2009.

Parent
Meeting and Upcoming Elections are
approaching. The date of the Parent Meeting has been changed in
order to allow for any new students and parents to receive
information and participation in the elections. Instead
of the March 16 date, the Parent Meeting will take place on Monday,
March 23, at 7:00 PM (right after chorus rehearsal).
In
compliance with our ByLaws the election of officers will take place
at the March 23, 2009 meeting:
"The
elected Officers shall be the President, Vice-President, Secretary,
and Treasurer. The Executive Board shall appoint a Nominating
Committee to nominate these officers, with the election by the full
membership at the Annual Spring Business Meeting. Officers
shall assume their duties at the time of the
election."

With
this in mind, the current Executive Board has appointed a Nominating
Committee, which includes:

This committee will be accepting nominations to fill the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Any parent/guardian of a NRYSC student is eligible to nominate themselves or another parent/guardian of a NRYSC student for consideration by the Nominating Committee and then submission to the entire membership at the March 23, 2009 Parent Meeting. Feel free to contact any of the above listed Nominating Committee members with your nominations. Please specify for which position you are nominating.
