FALL SEASON REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
At the beginning of the Fall 2010 season, auditions will be held for all new Beginner Chorus and Chorus students and both new and returning Symphony students. The next season’s auditions will be held at Oak Hill High School** on Monday, September 13, 2010, according to the following schedule:
5:00 p.m. Auditions for new Chorus students
and Auditions for returning Symphony students who are also in Chorus
5:45-7:00 Rehearsal for Beginner Chorus and Chorus
and Auditions for returning Symphony students who are not in Chorus
6:00 p.m. Auditions for new Symphony students
7:00-8:30 Rehearsal for Symphony
Auditions will continue the next two Mondays at the same times. Rehearsals will take place at Oak Hill High School** every Monday evening from September 13 to December 6, 2010. The two concerts will be in the afternoon at Beckley Presbyterian Church, time TBA, on Saturday, December 4, and at Historic Fayette Theatre in Fayetteville at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, December 11.
5:45-7:00 Regular Rehearsal - Beginner Chorus and Chorus
7:00-8:30 Regular Rehearsal - Symphony
*Directions to Oak Hill High School:
From the South (Beckley) on Route 19, take the Oyler Exit, turn left, cross over the highway and stay to the right until you get to Oak Hill High School.
From the North (Summersville) on Route 19, take the Oyler Exit, turn right, and stay to the right until you get to Oak Hill High School.
Who We Are
Music is very much a part of our heritage, and Southern West Virginia is home to many serious young musicians.
Young instrumentalists and vocalists enjoy the opportunity to make music together and perform in the New River Youth Symphony and Chorus (NRYSC).
The directors, William Bailey and Judith Arnold, are gifted musicians and respected educators who share their passion for music with the students and inspire them to pursue excellence.
